WEST PLAINS, Mo. – Area veterans interested in using their GI Bill benefits to earn a college degree from Missouri State University-West Plains are invited to attend a special information session from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, at the university’s Shannon Hall facility on the Mountain Grove campus.
Mark White, coordinator of the Missouri State-West Plains Veterans Incentive Program (VIP), said university officials will be on hand to help veterans navigate the admissions and financial aid process for the spring semester. This includes assistance with completing the application for admission, filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), choosing a degree program, and completing the veteran’s educational benefits eligibility forms.
Veterans interested in taking classes during the 2012 spring semester should bring their 2010 personal income tax records for filling out the FAFSA, their DD-214 for filling out the educational benefits forms, and $15 to cover the admission application fee, White said.
