TWO MEMBERS OF MISSOURI State University-West Plains’ chapter of Phi Beta Lambda (PBL), an educational association of postsecondary business students, placed in competitive events held as part of the annual PBL State Leadership Conference March 22 in Columbia. Megan Combs, Mammoth Spring, Ark., placed fifth in the business law written exam, and Zachary Hambelton, Gainesville, placed first in management analysis and decision making written exam and performance. Hambelton’s win qualifies him to compete in the same event at the PBL National Leadership Conference later this summer in Anaheim, Calif. While at nationals, Hambelton will attend various workshops, participate in a volunteer service event, and network with peers from colleges and universities across the U.S. Funding for the duo’s trip to the state conference was provided by the Philanthropic Women for Education organization in West Plains.
