TALER SUTHERLAND, left, a sophomore at Missouri State University-West Plains, has offered basic wash and detail services from his business, Taler’s Complete Car Detailing in West Plains, as a bid item for the university’s 19th Annual Auction Friday, April 5, at the West Plains Opera House. The service includes a hand wash and chamois dry; interior vacuuming; cleaning of the door jams, dash, door panels, and wheels; and tire dress, which is valued at $80, he said. “The university has been really good to me, and I thought this would be a great opportunity to give back to the university,” he said. Tickets for this year’s event, which will get underway with a silent auction at 6 p.m. followed by the live auction at 7:45, are $35 per person, or tables of eight can be reserved for $350, organizers said. A complete list of auction items can be found at the website, http://wp.missouristate.edu/development/auction.htm. The theme of this year’s event is “Be True to Your School” in honor of the campus’ 50th anniversary. With Sutherland above is Director of Development Joe Kammerer.
