SEVERAL FACULTY, STAFF AND STUDENTS at Missouri State University-West Plains teamed up with officials from Oxford Health in West Plains Saturday, Sept., 28, to volunteer for the Color Me for CASA 5K Run in downtown West Plains. The group served as road guards during the run and directed traffic away from the route of the run. The group’s participation was part of the university’s year-long Operation 50K initiative, which encourages faculty, staff, students and those with ties to the university to give 50,000 hours of volunteer service to their communities in honor of the campus’ 50th anniversary this year. To date, members of the university community have donated 14,080 hours of community service – 28 percent of the goal.
