WEST PLAINS, Mo. – “The Poets Speak” will be the topic of the next Friends of the Garnett Library monthly luncheon meeting Friday, Feb. 14, on the Missouri State University-West Plains campus.
The luncheon and meeting will take place from noon to 1 p.m. in rooms 104 and 105 on the lower level of the Lybyer Technology Center. Parking is available in the lot off Cass Avenue on the north side of the building.
Published authors Dr. Craig Albin and Dr. Phillip Howerton, both of whom are professors in the Department of English at Missouri State-West Plains, will read selections of their poetry at the meeting that explore affection for and devotion to people and places.
Combined, their poetry has appeared in more than 70 publications, including Arkansas Review: A Journal of Delta Studies, Big Muddy: A Journal of the Mississippi River Valley, The Cape Rock, The Journal of Kentucky Studies, The Mid-America Poetry Review, Natural Bridge, River Oak Review, Red Rock Review and Yonder Mountain: An Ozarks Anthology.
