Monday, May 5, 2014
TWO MEMBERS OF MISSOURI State University-West Plains’ chapter of Phi Beta Lambda (PBL), an educational association of postsecondary business students, placed in competitive events held as part of the annual PBL State Leadership Conference April 12 in Columbia. Tori Porter, a freshman from Williamsville, Mo., placed first in the Future Business Educator competition, and Zachary Hambelton, a sophomore from Gainesville, placed third in International Business. With their placings, both are now eligible to compete in the same events at the PBL National Leadership Conference June 24-28 in Nashville, Tenn. While at nationals, they will attend various workshops, participate in a volunteer service event, and network with peers from colleges and universities across the U.S. Funding for the duo’s trip to the state conference was provided by the Philanthropic Women for Education organization in West Plains. The group also will assist with funding for the national trip. (Missouri State-West Plains Photo)
