WEST PLAINS, Mo. – Information about Missouri State University-West Plains’ allied health programs will be given at the Friends of the Garnett Library monthly luncheon meeting Friday, Sept. 12, on the Missouri State University-West Plains campus.
Amy Ackerson, division chair of nursing and allied health, will give attendees an update on current programs, descriptions of new programs, and discuss community input concerning future allied health needs for this area, organizers said. In addition, current and past allied health students will be on hand to speak about their own experiences in the programs, organizers added. Ackerson and the students also will answer questions from the audience.

After earning her master’s degree in nursing in 2012 from Missouri State University-Springfield, she was appointed division chair nursing and allied health.
The luncheon and meeting will take place from noon to 1 p.m. in rooms 104 and 105 on the lower level of the Lybyer Technology Center. Parking is available in the lot off Cass Avenue on the north side of the building.
