WEST PLAINS, Mo. – “A New Cooperative Spirit Brings Advanced Training and the Hope of Jobs to the Region” will be the featured topic of the Friends of the Garnett Library monthly luncheon meeting Friday, Nov. 13, on the Missouri State-West Plains campus.
Dr. Dennis Lancaster, dean of academic affairs, will discuss the partnership between Missouri State University-West Plains, the City of West Plains and the South Central Career Center (SCCC) to develop an advanced manufacturing technology center in West Plains to provide training programs to area residents that will prepare them for manufacturing careers in the 21st century, organizers said.
Students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members who are interested in the Garnett Library and the progress of Missouri State-West Plains are welcome to attend.
The luncheon and meeting will take place from noon to 1 p.m. in rooms 104 and 105 on the lower level of the Lybyer Technology Center. Parking is available in the lot off Cass Avenue on the north side of the building.
