WEST PLAINS, Mo. – Officials with the Missouri State University-West Plains Grizzly Basketball program hope to see a lot of “Zizzer” red mixed in with the “Grizzly” blue Friday night, Dec. 11, when they host West Plains Night at the Grizzly Basketball game in Joe Paul Evans Arena at the West Plains Civic Center.
The Grizzlies (9-3) are slated to play Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa at 7 p.m. as part of the Grizzly Christmas Classic tournament, and organizers say they hope Zizzer fans will come out in force to cheer on one of their own, West Plains High School Zizzer Basketball standout Justin Davis, who is a freshman on the Grizzly Basketball team this season.
Organizers said they also plan to honor and recognize the accomplishments of various Zizzer teams and organizations during the game, which is being sponsored by the City of West Plains.
Students at West Plains R-7 and surrounding rural schools have been given free family passes to attend; however others wishing to attend can purchase tickets in advance from Drago College Store, 411 W. Main St., or at the door. Tickets are $6 per seat for arena level seating and $4 per seat for balcony seating.
Organizers noted that Grizzly Booster Club members receive season tickets to Grizzly Basketball and Volleyball games, as well as access to the Booster Club Room where free refreshments can be enjoyed. Some booster club levels also receive access to VIP parking, they added.
