OFFICIALS WITH THE LELIA HEUER Foundation in Springfield recently announced the gift of $17,000 to Missouri State University-West Plains to go toward scholarships and the creation of a bust of the foundation’s creator, a native of West Plains, which is currently on display in Gohn Hall. Over the past 15 years, The Heuer Foundation has funded 80 scholarships totaling more than $188,000 for 59 students at Missouri State-West Plains. The scholarships, at $2,000 each, make a signficant difference in helping students fund their education, university officials noted.
