WEST PLAINS, Mo. – Fans of the Grizzly Basketball and Volleyball teams at Missouri State University-West Plains can now purchase game tickets online.
Dr. Angela Totty, dean of student services/athletic director, announced today that tickets are available for purchase with credit or debit card at http://missouristate.tix.com, thanks to a months long effort between university officials and Tix, a national ticketing company that helped develop the ticketing system.
“This project, which required collaboration between financial services, information technology services, Missouri State University-Springfield, and the Grizzly Athletics department, will allow anyone who desires to attend one of our games the ability to purchase their ticket and print them from home or download them onto a smartphone.” Totty said.
All tickets, electronic or print, will be scanned as fans enter the arena, she said. “Scanning tickets will give us the ability to know who is attending the games and how we can better promote and encourage attendance,” Totty explained.
Those who purchase tickets online shouldn’t worry if they forget to bring their ticket with them. “Simply stop at the gate, and a duplicate will be printed,” Totty said.
Working with Tix will allow Missouri State-West Plains to expand the purchasing opportunity for fans with debit and credit cards both online and at the gate, Totty said. In addition, Tix will provide assistance in promoting future athletic events and alerting fans when tickets are available for upcoming events, she added.
A link to the online purchase site can be found with each home game listed on the teams’ schedule pages. Individual game tickets are $4 each for upper level seating and $6 for lower level seating at the West Plains Civic Center. The price does not include a nominal processing fee, which is added at the time of purchase.
