  • Grizzlies sign 1st volleyball recruit for 2017 season

    GRANBY, Mo. – Paula Wiedemann, head coach of the Missouri State University-West Plains Grizzly Volleyball team, picked up her first recruit for the 2017 season this week when Missouri Class 3A All-State honorable mention honoree Koty Cooper of East Newton High School in Granby inked her letter of intent.
    FIRST SIGNING FOR 2017 SEASON – Paula Wiedemann, head coach of the Missouri State University-West Plains Grizzly Volleyball team, picked up her first recruit for the 2017 season this week when Missouri Class 3A All-State honorable mention honoree Koty Cooper of East Newton High School in Granby inked her letter of intent. Cooper racked up numerous honors her senior season, including Big 8 Conference Player of the Year, while helping her Lady Patriots to a 17-15 season record. “We are excited to have Koty as a part of our incoming freshman class. She is athletic and continues to improve in her ability to play the game. Her size and strength make her a presence on the floor, and we look forward to watching her grow with our freshmen. She is a great start to our 2017 recruiting class,” Wiedemann said.     WEST PLAINS, Mo. – Four members of the Missouri State University-West Plains Grizzly Volleyball team were named to the Missouri Community College Athletic Conference (MCCAC) All-Conference team for the 2016 season.

  • Grizzlies finish season on high note with straight set victory over MAC

    WEST PLAINS, Mo. – An emotional evening and season ended on a high note Tuesday night when the Missouri State University-West Plains Grizzly Volleyball team sent its “Core Four” sophomore members into the sunset with a 25-17, 25-21, 25-20 win over Mineral Area College, Park Hills, at the West Plains Civic Center in the team’s final game of the season.
    THE FINAL GAME of the Grizzly Volleyball season Tuesday night was a special one. Not only did fans recognize the “Core Four” sophomores, they also celebrated the end of Head Coach Paula Wiedemann’s 20th season with the program.   • ‘Dig Pink’ T-shirts available at Grizzly Volleyball game Tuesday

    WEST PLAINS, Mo. – “Dig Pink” T-shirts like these will be available for purchase Tuesday night at the Missouri State University-West Plains Grizzly Volleyball team’s last game of the season at the West Plains Civic Center arena to raise funds for the Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks.
    “DIG PINK” T-SHIRTS like these will be available for purchase Tuesday night at the Missouri State University-West Plains Grizzly Volleyball team’s last game of the season at the West Plains Civic Center arena to raise funds for the Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks. Each year the Grizzlies host the fund raiser as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Shirts are available for $12 for youth sizes through adult XL and $15 for 2X and 3X. If you can’t find your size among the T-shirt selections at the game, orders can be placed at the arena that evening, or by downloading the order form on the Grizzly Volleyball Facebook page, “Missouri State University-West Plains Volleyball,” or by contacting Strength and Conditioning Coach Keri Elrod at 417-255-7936 or KeriElrod@MissouriState.edu. The Student Government Association (SGA) also will have a booth at the game to collect donations for the foundation.     WEST PLAINS, Mo. – The Missouri State University-West Plains Grizzly Volleyball team completed an undefeated season in Missouri Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) play Wednesday night with its 25-6, 25-6, 25-3 victory over St. Louis Community College at the West Plains Civic Center arena.

    WEST PLAINS, Mo. – The Missouri State University-West Plains Grizzly Volleyball team went undefeated in Region 16 play this season after posting a 25-23, 25-17, 19-25, 19-25, 15-8 win over Mineral Area College (MAC) Wednesday evening in Park Hills and a 25-23, 20-25, 25-13, 27-25 victory over Jefferson College in Hillsboro Thursday evening.

  • Grizzlies up record to 20-4 with 4-0 outing at Grizzly Invitational

    WEST PLAINS, Mo. – The Missouri State University-West Plains Grizzly Volleyball team upped its season record to 20-4 after winning all four games this past weekend at the Lazy W Pallets/Colton’s Steakhouse and Grill/City of West Plains/West Plains Civic Center Grizzly Invitational Tournament.

  • Catja Weijzen named NJCAA D1 Volleyball Player of the Week

    COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Catja Weijzen, a 6-foot outside hitter for the Missouri State University-West Plains Grizzly Volleyball team, was named the National Junior College Athletic Association’s (NJCAA) Division I Volleyball Player of the Week for Sept. 12-18.
