WILLOW SPRINGS, Mo. – Three Rivers College and Missouri State University-West Plains will hold a registration session for the South Central Education Consortium in Willow Springs on Thursday, Jan. 16, from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. In addition, the colleges have announced that they will be delaying the start of classes at the Consortium until Tuesday, Jan. 21.
The registration session will walk prospective students through the registration process, including signing up for classes and applying for financial aid. Students should fill out a free application online at trcc.edu/admissions before the registration session, and bring their high school transcripts or GED.
“Given how new the Consortium is, we wanted to give area residents extra time to register for classes in Willow Springs,” said Dr. Wesley Payne, Vice President for Learning at Three Rivers. “The registration extension will give prospective students the extra time they need, while still keeping them in sync with the college’s Spring schedule.”
Courses offered in the Spring semester include blocks of Electrical Technician, HVAC/R, and Plumbing Technician courses; transitional English, reading, and math courses; and general education courses including Intro to Computers, Writing I, and College Algebra.
The Consortium was formed as a partnership between Three Rivers and Missouri State-West Plains to bring affordable, accessible higher education to the Willow Springs region. The Consortium will offer two-year technical degrees, short-term career certificates, transitional classes, and general education courses.
