What is your hometown?
I grew up mostly in Licking, Missouri, but I live in Rolla, Missouri!
Why did you choose to attend Missouri State-West Plains?
The small campus, which allowed for small class sizes, it just really appealed to me. Another big plus is that I can use my A+ Scholarship.
How would you describe your experience here?
It has been awesome! The staff and faculty are all nice and easy to get along with! I think that this campus draws together a caring community.
What has been your favorite thing about Missouri State-West Plains?
Living on campus. My house is around two hours away, and it makes it really convenient to have the option to live on campus while attending this university. It makes it feel like a full college experience.
What has been your favorite course?
I am interested in the health care field, and so far, my favorite class that I have been in is Human Genetics. It was cool to be able to learn the different disorders a person can have just through their genes.
How have faculty and staff helped you during your time at Missouri State-West Plains?
The faculty and staff have helped me a lot. The most notable was creating a new student organization on campus; it was really cool to create something that will last on this campus for a long while. The support behind creating this student organization was amazing!
How did you choose your major?
From a young age, I knew I wanted to go into medicine, and when searching for the university that I wanted to attend I saw the health professions degree option that set me up to transfer to Missouri State-Springfield for the cell and molecular biology degree there. With this, it would allow me to continue and become a physician assistant.
What have you learned at University that will help you succeed in your education, career or life?
As a resident assistant at the Grizzly Lofts, it has shown me how to handle issues in a dignified way. I think this will benefit me in my future career in medicine.
What are your plans after graduation?
I plan to further my education at Missouri State-Springfield and pursue a career as a physician assistant.
