WEST PLAINS, Mo. – Area fans of Missouri State University-West Plains Grizzly Basketball can get their first look at this year’s team and meet the players at the annual Blue & White Madness scrimmage Tuesday, Sept. 30, at the West Plains Civic Center.
This year’s event will begin at 6 p.m. with a “carnival” session in the exhibit hall featuring a bounce house and prizes, organizers said. In addition, members of the Grizzly Basketball, Volleyball and Cheer teams will be signing autographs, and those attending can have their photo taken with the athletes and Grizz, the teams’ mascot. A free meal also will be served, organizers said.
“We are excited to invite everyone to meet our new team and have a good time at the carnival,” said Grizzly Basketball Head Coach Yancey Walker. “The Bounce House has been gracious enough to participate, so we hope it will be a lot of fun for people of all ages.”
At 7 p.m., activities will move to the arena, where this year’s Grizzly Basketball team will be introduced and players will participate in slam dunk and three-point shooting contests, as well as a scrimmage.
“This is a fun group of young men,” Walker said. “I am eager for people to get to know them.”
