WEST PLAINS, Mo. – Tickets for the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) District N Championship match at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, in Joe Paul Evans Arena at the West Plains Civic Center will be available at the door only, organizers of the match said.
Tickets for open seating will be $5 per person for adults and $3 per person for seniors and students. Children age six and under will be admitted free. Missouri State University-West Plains students should contact the student life and development office, 417-255-7233, for ticket information.
The match will feature the 16th ranked Missouri State-West Plains Grizzlies (24-12), the NJCAA Region 16 champion, and the 17th ranked Monroe College Mustangs (35-4), New Rochelle, New York, winner of the Regions 15 and 20 championship.
Grizzly Volleyball Head Coach Paula Wiedemann said earlier this week she expects a tough match. “They’re going to be a tough team. We need to study some film and determine their strengths and weaknesses. We will have to be ready to play against a team that’s playing with a lot of emotion and a team that’s ready to prove something,” she said.
The winner will advance to the 2015 NJCAA Division I Women’s National Volleyball Championship Tournament Nov. 20-22 in Casper, Wyoming.
Saturday’s match will be the last time area fans can see the Grizzlies on their home turf this season, Wiedemann said. “We love the opportunity to play in front of our home crowd for the district title and hope to see everyone come out to support the Grizzlies in their quest to return to the national tournament,” she said.
