WEST PLAINS, Mo. – Officials at Missouri State University-West Plains will interview two more candidates for the men’s basketball head coaching position next week, Dean of Student Services/Athletic Director Dr. Angela Totty announced today.
They include:
• Robert Guster, assistant coach at the University of Texas-San Antonio, on Monday, May 9;
• Ryan Stock, assistant coach at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas, on Tuesday, May 10;
Community members can meet Guster during an open forum at 10 a.m. Monday and Stock at an open forum at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Totty said.
Three candidates were interviewed this week. They included:
• Chad Van Riessen, interim head coach of the Grizzly Basketball team, on Tuesday, May 3;
• Steven Hunter, head coach of the men’s basketball team at North Arkansas College in Harrison, Arkansas, on Wednesday, May 4;
• Chris Popp, assistant men’s basketball coach at the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith, tomorrow, May 6.
Totty said members of the search committee hope to make a hiring decision by mid-May. The choice will be subject to approval by the Missouri State University Board of Governors, she added.
