WEST PLAINS, Mo. – Comedian Jeff Scheen will bring his affable demeanor and off-beat humor to the West Plains Civic Center theater for a special performance Oct. 5.
Tickets for the 7 p.m. event, sponsored by Missouri State University-West Plains’ University/Community Programs (U/CP) Department, are $10 each and available through the West Plains Civic Center box office, 110 St. Louis St., from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays, or by phone at 417-256-8087. Missouri State-West Plains students with a BearPass ID will be admitted free.
Scheen has been featured on the FOX TV series “Laughs” and was a finalist in the 2016 Laughing Skull Festival in Atlanta, Georgia, according to information on his website. He’s also been in a number of other comedy festivals, including the Bridgetown Comedy Festival, Montreux’s Jokenational Festival, Laugh Your Asheville Off in North Carolina, and Laughfest in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Scheen currently lives in Brooklyn, New York, and performs throughout the greater New York City region. “Growing up in northern Michigan surrounded by trees and dirt roads will make any kid a weirdo, and Jeff has no problem telling you about it,” according to officials with his booking agency, Bass-Schuler Entertainment.
“Jeff is definitely a hilarious guy,” said U/CP Director Brenda Polyard. “I hope everyone will come out to enjoy a great evening of fun entertainment.”
