    WEST PLAINS, Mo. – They went toe-to-toe with one of the best junior college teams in the nation last night, Jan. 16, but the Missouri State University-West Plains Grizzly Basketball team came up short against Region 16 rival and No. 6 Mineral Area College Cardinals 91-88 in a double overtime heart-breaker at Joe Paul Evans Arena in the West Plains Civic Center.

  • Grizzlies collect over 500 soft toys at toy toss

    WEST PLAINS, Mo. – A total of 515 new or gently used soft stuffed toys were collected for the U.S Marine Corps Reserve’s annual Toys for Tots campaign during Saturday’s toy toss at the Missouri State University-West Plains Grizzly Basketball game against Iowa Western Community College in the West Plains Civic Center arena. Fans who brought a toy to the game received free admission.
    A TOTAL OF 515 new or gently used soft stuffed toys were collected for the U.S Marine Corps Reserve’s annual Toys for Tots campaign during Saturday’s toy toss at the Missouri State University-West Plains Grizzly Basketball game against Iowa Western Community College in the West Plains Civic Center arena. Fans who brought a toy to the game received free admission. Toys were then tossed onto the court after the Grizzlies scored their first points of the contest and given to Toys for Tots for distribution to children in the area who are less fortunate, organizers said. Student organizations were challenged by Missouri State-West Plains Chancellor Drew Bennett to have their members attend the game and bring toys for a $100 prize. The Ag Club won the challenge with 34 members in attendance and 134 stuffed toys collected and donated.   • Grizzlies prepare to host No. 19 Indian Hills Tuesday

    WEST PLAINS, Mo. – The Missouri State University-West Plains Grizzly Basketball team will face one of its toughest opponents of the season Tuesday, Dec. 13, when they host the 19th-ranked Indian Hills Community College Warriors from Ottumwa, Iowa, in Joe Paul Evans Arena at the West Plains Civic Center for the final game of the fall semester.
