MANY FACULTY, STAFF AND STUDENTS at Missouri State University-West Plains were on hand Dec. 13, 2011, at Kellett Hall to give Janice Johnson, coordinator of the campus’ Student Advisement & Academic Support (SAAS) Center, a fond farewell. Johnson officially retired from the university on Jan. 1, nearly 23 years after joining its staff as a part-time secretary and tutor in what was then known as the Learning Skills Center. She became a per course faculty member in August 1989 and was promoted to preparatory reading specialist in September 1990.
