WEST PLAINS, Mo. – A wide variety of items have been donated and more are coming in for Missouri State University-West Plains’ 18th annual auction, set for Friday, April 13, at the West Plains Civic Center exhibit hall.

Some of the recent donations that will be up for bid at the “April in Paris”-themed event include a fire extinguisher from France Fire Extinguisher; an “entertaining basket” of assorted food and serving items from At Home Market; a “Silent Walker” Northwoods Santa hand made by Patricia Becker of Isle, Minn.; a Missouri Grist Mills book photographed and compiled by Methven Swanson, Mtn. View; several copies of the The West Plains Gazette magazine offered by Dr. Marvin Looney, Pontiac; a pair of Coach sunglasses valued at $180 donated by Dr. Julie Hart of Hart Family Eyecare; a Paris-themed print plus $40 toward framing from The Frame Shop and Gallery; dozens of gift certificates from area merchants; and tickets to many Branson-area attractions, such as Silver Dollar City, “Joseph” at the Sight and Sound Theater, the New Shanghai Circus and “The Cat’s Pajamas” at the Andy Williams Theater.

The event will begin with a silent auction from 5 to 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner served from 6:30 to 7:30 and the live auction, which will begin at 7:30, organizers said.  Tickets are $30 per person and may be purchased by contacting the Missouri State-West Plains development office at 417-255-7240 or e-mail wpdevelopment@missouristate.edu.

Organizers also encourage area residents to check out the auction website, http://wp.missouristate.edu/development/auction.htm, and Facebook page, “MSU-WP Auction,” periodically for the latest additions to the list of auction items.
