WEST PLAINS, Mo.– It’s not too late for working adults in the area to enroll in the next class of Missouri State University-West Plains’ Great Opportunities for Adult Learners (GOAL) Program.

These prospective students have until Aug. 1 to sign up for the program, which is designed to help working adults earn the Associate of Arts in General Studies degree – the university’s transfer degree – in two years by attending classes just one night a week, university officials said.

Students will attend four-hour-long classes beginning at 6 p.m. one day each week.  The classes will be organized around a cohort model and compressed in length to best meet associate degree requirements, officials said.  The program’s second group will begin classes Aug. 28.

The current cohorts meet at three convenient locations in Missouri State-West Plains’ seven-county primary service area – the West Plains campus, the Missouri State-West Plains campus in Mountain Grove and at Summersville High School.  University officials plan to establish another site in Thayer.

Prospective students should be adults who are 22 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or equivalent before enrolling.  Financial aid and/or scholarship funds offered through Missouri State-West Plains can be applied to this program.  For more information about financial aid options, call the financial aid office at 417-255-7243.
