WEST PLAINS, Mo. – Area fans of Missouri State University-West Plains Grizzly Basketball can get their first look at this year’s team and meet the players at the Blue & White Scrimmage at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at the West Plains Civic Center arena.
This free event will include three-point and slam dunk contests for the players, a dance off with the Grizzly Cheer Team and a scrimmage between the players. There also will be games and giveaways for fans, and pancakes and sausage will be served free to everyone, according to Head Coach Yancey Walker.
“We are excited to invite the community to meet our team,” Walker said, noting this event is taking the place of the annual Midnight Madness event held in previous years. “This will be another fun night of free food and Grizzly Basketball.
“We hope that since it is earlier in the evening, more people will come out and get acquainted with these young men,” he continued. “Hopefully, this will be the first taste of how exciting we can be to watch.”
