MEMBERS OF THE STUDENT Government Association (SGA) and Drago College Store officials at Missouri State University-West Plains are teaming up to host a charitable community service event, “One Night, A Million Smiles” to celebrate National Student Day, an effort by members of the National Association of College Stores to honor students for their volunteerism and social responsibility. Beginning the evening of Oct. 3, students, faculty, staff and community members are invited to come to the store at 411 W. Main St. to make inspirational greeting cards for cancer patients at Ozarks Medical Center (OMC) and St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. The marathon event will run until 8 a.m. Oct. 4. Participating volunteers will be eligible to receive several giveaway prizes, including a Skull Candy headphone, MP3 player, 1,600 points for MicroSoft Xbox Live, a DaKine backpack, and Hurley clothing. Free drinks and snacks will be provided.
