WEST PLAINS, Mo. – Area residents who attend the March 26 concert of Missouri State University’s premier all-male and all-female a cappella vocal groups, the Beartones and A Cub Bella, will receive an added treat immediately following the performances.
Officials with the campus’ Student Government Association (SGA) will host a free showing of the film “Pitch Perfect” beginning at 9 p.m. Both events are free and will be held in the West Plains Civic Center theater, according to officials with Missouri State University-West Plains’ University/Community Programs (U/CP) Department.
Released in 2012 and starring Anna Kendrick, Brittany Snow and Rebel Wilson, “Pitch Perfect” tells the story of Beca (Kendrick), a college freshman who is finding it difficult to assimilate into life as a coed until she joins the campus’ all-female a cappella singing group. When Beca takes this acoustic singing group out of its world of traditional arrangements and perfect harmonies into all-new mash-ups, the singers fight to climb their way to the top of the cutthroat world of competitive collegiate a cappella performance.
The film is rated PG-13.
