WEST PLAINS, Mo. – Anyta Cavitt, West Plains, president of the Student Veterans Organization at Missouri State University-West Plains, has been selected to attend the 2013 Student Veterans of America (SVA) Leadership Institute July 31 through Aug. 3 at the Lumina Foundation’s headquarters in Indianapolis, Ind.
This cohort-based, multi-day program brings a select group of emerging chapter leaders together for intensive, in-residence chapter leadership training, according to the organzation’s website, www.studentveterans.org.
Cavitt said she hopes to learn best practices that will help fellow veterans attending Missouri State-West Plains assimilate into college life and find success in the classroom.
The national SVA was founded in 2008 to provide a variety of support services to student veterans that will assist them in achieving their educational goals.
