Business owners who would like to participate should contact Smith by calling 417-255-7230 or e-mailing AliceSmith@MissouriState.edu to make their reservations. Booth space is free, she added.
The fair is set for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, in the Student Recreation Center at the corner of Garfield Avenue and West Trish Knight Street on the Missouri State-West Plains campus. Businesses and agencies already scheduled to participate include Air Evac EMS, Hardee’s, Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative, E-Communications LLC, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Maurice’s, McDonald’s, Ozarks Medical Center, Shoe Factory Lofts, TJ Portrait Design, Advocare, Arvest Bank, Consumer Credit Counseling, Coca Cola Bottling Co., American Home Care, Regal Beloit, Missouri Career Center, Missouri Vocational Rehabilitation and Ozark Radio Network.
Educational programs offered by South Central Career Center and various departments and student organizations at Missouri State-West Plains also will participate, Smith said.
The fair will include a combination of career information, educational opportunities and job possibilities for area high school and college students, as well as the general public. All area business owners are invited to provide informational exhibits about their businesses, including current and future job opportunities, and the company’s business model, vision, mission, operations, etc.
“We hope all businesses will consider participating, not only as a resource for future employees, but also to provide a community service opportunity to students and residents interested in becoming quality, skilled workers to meet future business and industry needs,” Smith said.
