STUDENTS IN DR. RAJIV THAKUR’S World Regional Geography (GRY 100) classes at Missouri State University-West Plains recently traveled to Springfield to visit with experts from the Springfield Chamber of Commerce and the City of Springfield’s planning department to learn about the significance of geographic learning and the applications of geographic information systems (GIS). They also toured historic Walnut and Commercial Streets and met with representatives from the geography, geology and planning department at Missouri State University.
