WEST PLAINS, Mo. – Back by popular demand, Miss Jubilee will return to West Plains at 7 p.m. Friday, April 25, for an encore performance of her high energy hot jazz show in the West Plains Civic Center theater.
Tickets are $5 in advance and $8 at the door. They are available at the civic center box office from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays. Children age 13 and under will be admitted free, as will Missouri State University-West Plains students with a current BearPass ID.
“We are thrilled to be bringing Miss Jubilee back to the civic center stage,” said Emily Gibson, theater and events coordinator for Missouri State-West Plains’ University/Community Programs (U/CP) Department, which is sponsoring the show. “We hope those who became fans back in August will bring their friends and make this a great finale to what has been an oustanding season for University/Community Programs.”
At the first performance, Miss Jubilee and her band had couples dancing in the aisles to the tunes of the 1920s through 1950s, Gibson said. Miss Jubilee’s voice soared through the swing-fueled horn and rhythm section and transported everyone to another era. Area residents who attend the April 25 concert can expect another high energy performance that will leave them wanting more, Gibson promised.
Since 2007, Miss Jubilee and her band has been entertaining audiences around St. Louis and beyond with their exciting blend of hot jazz, swing, rhythm and blues, and rock n’ roll. Fronted by Miss Jubilee’s high energy vocals and backed up by a swinging horn-fueled rhythm section, they’ve become a favorite among Swing dancers and fans of all ages who enjoy uplifting and energetic music, Gibson said.
