WEST PLAINS, Mo. – Community members who are interested in donating to Missouri State University-West Plains’ Annual Fund can team up with the Future Alumni Organization (FAO) and Ruby Tuesday’s in West Plains to “Eating for the Future.”
For anyone who mentions “Eating for the Future” or brings in one of the flyers promoting the fundraiser to Ruby Tuesday’s on Saturday, April 18, 20 percent of their bill will go to the university’s Annual Fund, which provides funding for scholarships, emergency grants, educational initiatives, campus technology, labs and facilities and programming through the University/Community Programs Department which are not funded through state appropriations or tuition, organizers said.
FAO President Darrius Young said he would “really like to see the city of West Plains get behind this project to support future students.”
“The unique part of this fundraiser is that it is the only student-run fundraiser that benefits Missouri State-West Plains’ Annual Fund,” added Assistant Director of Development Melody Hubbell. “Basically students are raising money for students, and Ruby Tuesday’s customers will support their efforts just by eating.”
