WEST PLAINS, Mo. – A familiar face has returned to Missouri State University-West Plains as the new admissions counselor.
Amber Carr, a 2011 graduate of the campus, joined the admissions office staff on Sept. 20 and will be visiting with prospective students at high school visits, college fairs, Red Carpet Days, and other activities and events.
Carr, who is a 2009 graduate of West Plains High School, served as a Student Ambassador and publicist for the Student Government Association while attending classes here. Following her 2011 graduation, she transferred to Missouri State University in Springfield and received a Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Journalism, with a minor in Communications in 2013.
In December 2012, she received the Missouri State University Board of Governors’ Citizen Scholar Award, which is given annually to students “who exemplify the concept of a citizen scholar.”
Following her graduation from Missouri State, she worked two years as a producer with KY3 in Springfield.
“I’m so excited to be back at Missouri State-West Plains where it all began for me,” Carr said. “I look forward to meeting prospective students and their families and telling them the amazing things this campus has to offer.”
