Faculty, staff, students, alumni invited to submit artwork for show

WEST PLAINS, Mo. – All Missouri State University-West Plains’ faculty, staff, students and alumni are invited to submit original 2D and 3D art for the 2017 Spring ARTWORKS show hosted by the university’s art department.

The offiical Missouri State-West Plains logo    WEST PLAINS, Mo. – All Missouri State University-West Plains’ faculty, staff, students and alumni are invited to submit original 2D and 3D art for the 2017 Spring ARTWORKS show hosted by the university’s art department.

The show will take place April 15 through May 7 with a reception on April 29. A “Best of Show” prize of $50 will be awarded by the show’s sponsors, the West Plains Council on the Arts and Missouri Council of the Arts, a state agency.

Photos of the ready-to-display gallery artwork may be submitted electronically to the “ARTWORKS at the MSU West Plains Campus Community” Facebook event page through the month of February.

Each artist may submit up to five pieces. 3D artwork must be submitted with pictures from multiple points of view. All images submitted must be acceptable Facebook format and contain the following information for each submission:

• dimensions of the work, including the frame or 3D display apparatus;

• year of completion (only work created since 2012 will be accepted);

• media and surface choices (e.g. oil on canvas);

• title of the artwork;

• artist name, place of residence (including city and state) and contact email address;

• university status (staff, faculty, student or alumni

• students submitting class projects should list class, title and instructor;

• and a list of purchase options or marked not for sale.

Accepted artwork can be dropped off at the West Plains Civic Center on April 13 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Look for signs in the civic center lobby with directions for drop off. Set up will be the morning of April 14, the reception is April 29, tear down will be May 8 and pick up will be May 8 and 9.
