WEST PLAINS, Mo. – Everyone is invited to the 12th annual tree lighting ceremony at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, in the lobby of the Lybyer Technology Center on the Missouri State University-West Plains campus.
This free event, sponsored by the Future Alumni Organization (FAO), rings in the holiday season on campus, organizers said.
Chancellor Drew Bennett will welcome guests, and the West Plains Elementary School choir will lead those attending in singing some of the season’s favorite songs.
FAO President Lekisha Hernandez, Dadeville, and Vice President Jarod Coatney, West Plains, will light the tree to shine on hand-made ornaments created by students from the university’s various organizations.
Cookies and hot cocoa also will be served.
