WEST PLAINS, Mo. – Missouri State University-West Plains will host a site review by officials with the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) Tuesday, Feb. 6, through Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018, for continuing accreditation of the Associate of Science in Nursing degree program.
Area residents are invited to meet the site visit team and share comments about the nursing program at a 3:45 p.m. meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 7, in Room 208 of the Lybyer Technology Center on the Missouri State-West Plains campus, said Amy Ackerson, division chair of nursing and allied health.
Written comments also are welcome and should be submitted directly to: Dr, Marsol Stoll, Chief Executive Director, Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, 3343 Peachtree Road NE, Suite 850, Atlanta, GA 30326. Written comments also can be sent via e-mail to mstoll@acenursing.org. All written comments should be received by the ACEN by Jan. 29, 2018, Ackerson stressed.
Missouri State-West Plains’ nursing program was established in 1983 and received initial NLNAC accreditation in 1988. It received continued accreditation in March 1994, July 2002, and again in June 2010 when it received the maximum accreditation term of eight years. Since the visit in 2010, the NLNAC has since changed ownership and been renamed to Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
