WEST PLAINS, Mo. – The William and Virginia Darr Honors Program will be the topic of the Friends of the Garnett Library monthly luncheon meeting Friday, Feb. 9, on the Missouri State University-West Plains campus.
Alex Pinnon, director of the Darr Honors Program, will discuss the program and the benefits of being a global student. “We will reflect on the places we have visited, student experiences and future plans for the program,” he said.
Those attending will hear from two students in the program who will discuss their travels in China and Europe.
“I want to educate the guests over the economic, social and educational benefits while also discussing and promoting our new service learning, short term study abroad trips that will occur every other year,” Pinnon said.
The luncheon and meeting will take place from noon to 1 p.m. in rooms 104 and 105 on the lower level of the Lybyer Technology Center. Parking is available in the lot off Cass Avenue on the north side of the building.
Cost of the meal is $10, payable at the door. Those wishing to eat should make a reservation by calling 417-255-7940 or emailing FriendsofGarnettLibrary@MissouriState.edu by Tuesday, Feb. 6.
