Everyone is invited to the 13th annual tree lighting ceremony at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, at the Carol Silvey Student Union in Hass-Darr Hall on the Missouri State University-West Plains campus.
This free event, sponsored by the Student Ambassador Organization and Student Government Association (SGA), rings in the holiday season on campus, organizers said.
Chancellor Shirley Lawler will welcome guests, and those attending will sing some of the season’s favorite songs.
SGA President Lyndsey Parker, Salem, and Student Ambassadors Makayla Koon, West Plains, and Liliya Dudko, Willow Springs, will light the tree to shine on hand-made ornaments created by students from the university’s various organizations.
Cookies and hot cocoa also will be served.
Guests are encouraged to dress in holiday attire.
