Internationally recognized hypnotist Daniel James will bring his skills in the art of illusion to the West Plains Civic Center for a 7 p.m. performance Jan. 31.
The performance is being sponsored by the Missouri State University-West Plains University/Community Programs (U/CP) Department.
Tickets are $10 each and available through the West Plains Civic Center box office, 110 St. Louis St., from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays, or by phone at 417-256-8087. Students with a BearPass ID will be admitted free.
James is one of the busiest comic hypnotists in the entertainment industry, organizers said. He’s appeared on ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX affiliates across the country.
His lightning-fast, high-energy, interactive performances provide an audience experience unlike any other, organizers said. His comedic style and powers of persuasion are unmatched and set him apart from other hypnotists, they add.
A master of illusion
Considered a master in the art of illusion, James is recognized internationally by his peers as a top inventor, designer and engineer of original theatrical illusions. His work has appeared on such televised shows as “America’s Got Talent,” “The Tonight Show,” “The Ellen Show” and at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas.
As a certified hypnotherapist, James recently appeared on the “Meet the Experts” television program to discuss his latest book, “Change Your Perspective, Change Your Destiny.”
This inspirational and motivational book serves as a road map into the latest strategies that break down the mental barriers holding us back from reaching our goals, according to information on his website, www.danieljames.com.
“Daniel shares with the reader the latest research and techniques in self-hypnosis that allow you to disconnect and blast through those barriers to put you on the fast track towards reaching your true potential and living the life of your dreams,” according to the website.
“We’re thrilled to bring someone of Daniel’s caliber to West Plains,” said U/CP Director Brenda Polyard. “We’re sure area residents will be amazed by his abilities and leave the civic center wondering ‘How did he do that?’”
