“Missouri State University-West Plains allowed me to stay where I wanted to while getting the degree I wanted.”

Why did you choose to attend Missouri State-West Plains?

It is close to home, and I’ve never liked being away from my family. Missouri State-West Plains allowed me to stay where I wanted to while getting the degree I wanted.

How would you describe your experience here?

My experience here has been nothing but positive. I love this campus, as well as everyone here. I have kept close relationships with old friends, while at the same time making new ones that will last forever.

What has been your favorite thing about Missouri State-West Plains?

My favorite thing about Missouri State-West Plains has been the campus in general. Everything is so close together, so it’s convenient. There is plenty of parking, and that is important to me. As well as the campus, I would have to say the teachers are my other favorite thing. They are amazing and are so helpful. They want you to succeed.

What has been your favorite course?

I have enjoyed all of my classes so far, it’s hard to choose just one. My favorite would have to be any of the education classes. The things I have learned in them will help me in my own classroom one day.

How have faculty and staff helped you during your time at Missouri State-West Plains?

The faculty and staff on this campus are amazing. They want you to succeed, and it’s not hard to tell. They are willing to go the extra mile to make sure you understand the subjects. All of them are an email away and welcome you to stop by their office anytime. I think that is how all faculty and staff should be at every school.

How did you choose your major?

Choosing my major wasn’t hard at all. Growing up my mom was a teacher, so I spent most of my time in a classroom. The older I got, the more I was able to help. In high school I had the opportunity to go into the A+ program and help in classrooms. I did this for two years and loved every moment of it. So, I guess it was the easiest decision I have ever made.

What are your plans after graduation?

After graduation I plan on transferring to Missouri State-Springfield Teacher Education Completion Program through Missouri State Outreach on the West Plains campus. I am very excited to continue my educational career close to home and at this campus.
