Lyndsey Parker, Salem, Mo., and Jon Petroski, West Plains, were crowned the 2019 Grizzly Homecoming Queen and King, respectively, Saturday at Missouri State University-West Plains’ annual homecoming basketball game at the West Plains Civic Center.
The crowning took place during halftime activities in Joe Paul Evans Arena at the civic center. They were crowned by the 2018 Grizzly Homecoming King and Queen, Colt Tompkins and Makayla Koon, both of West Plains.
Parker was sponsored by Student Ambassadors, and Petroski was sponsored by Christian Campus House.
The game pitted the Grizzlies against Three Rivers College from Poplar Bluff. The Grizzlies won 114-101.
Members of the homecoming court gathered for receptions with Grizzly fans prior to the homecoming game and following the crowning of the king and queen.
Members of the court included queen candidates:
- Whitney Haynie, Forsythe, sponsored by the Student Government Association (SGA)
- Neely Gobel, West Plains, sponsored by the Grizzly Cheer Team
- Jensyn Heidy, West Plains, sponsored by Baptist Campus Ministry
- Megan Bever, Licking, sponsored by the Agriculture Club
King candidates included:
- Rylee Foreman, Plato, sponsored by the Grizzly Cheer Team
- Sean Loughridge, Licking, sponsored by the Agriculture Club
- Ezekiel Webb, Ellsinore, sponsored by the SGA
- Noah Mullican, Licking, sponsored by Student Ambassadors
