Officials with the University/Community Programs (U/CP) Department at Missouri State University-West Plains will offer swimming lessons July 8-12 at the West Plains Civic Center pool.
The daily, one-hour lessons will be for youths age four through 12 whose swimming abilities range from beginners with no swimming experience to intermediate swimmers who have some experience and are not afraid of the water, organizers said.
Lifeguards certified through Jeff Ellis and Associates will teach the classes.
The cost is $50 per child and covers all five meeting times of the selected session, organizers said.
Those interested can register at the civic center pool desk from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays during the month of June, or they can print a registration form from the website.
Completed forms and payment can be dropped off at the pool desk or mailed to Missouri State University-West Plains, Attention: Aquatics, 128 Garfield Ave., West Plains, MO 65775.
Class size is limited, so registrations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.
