Hometown: Nixa, MO
Why did you choose to attend Missouri State-West Plains?
It was everything I needed with an affordable price. I have the chance to study abroad and study Spanish and education.
How would you describe your experience here?
MSU-WP is very friendly and open to new opportunities.
What has been your favorite thing about Missouri State-West Plains?
The friends I have made here are some I never thought I would make. The connections with them are some I feel like I will never forget.
What has been your favorite course?
My public speaking class has been for sure my favorite. I get to practice speaking in front of an audience and learn about my peers.
How have faculty and staff helped you during your time at Missouri State-West Plains?
They have helped me find a job and ways to continue the career I want for my future.
How did you choose your major?
I went to Spain over the summer and fell in love with the culture. I also really love education, so I chose to minor in Spanish and major in teaching to one day educate Spanish-speaking students in English.
What have you learned at Missouri State-West Plains that will help you succeed in your education, career or life?
The Student Ambassador Program taught me to always represent yourself in a positive way. It taught me that, for the future, it is important to be respectful and be someone to look up to. I hope my future students look up to me one day and learn the same respect.
What are your plans after graduation?
My plans after graduation are to take some time and travel. I want to finish my last two years at Missouri State in Springfield, but before that, I would like to do mission work and put some of my new Spanish speaking skills to the test. Traveling to different countries is a must for me, and there is no other perfect time.
