Why did you choose to attend Missouri State-West Plains?

I chose to attend MSU-West Plains because it was a good transition from a small-town lifestyle. The campus is small and close knit but still has the full college experience with dorms, sports and a community feel.

How would you describe your experience here?

My experience here has been amazing. I love this school and am so happy that I chose to attend here. I have met some of my closest friends here, and I feel extremely lucky.

What has been your favorite thing about Missouri State-West Plains?

My favorite thing about MSU-WP is the helpfulness of all the faculty and staff. I know they want me to succeed and they actually care for me.

What has been your favorite course?

My favorite course that I have taken has been my math courses. Math has always been something I struggle with, but now I feel more confident in math than any other course.

How have faculty and staff helped you during your time at Missouri State-West Plains?

The faculty and staff are extremely helpful. The best way they have helped me is by encouraging me to use the tutoring lab. The tutoring lab has been one of the most helpful things offered to me by this university.

How did you choose your major?

I chose my major because I am pretty indecisive at the moment. I am juggling a few different options and am able to complete my general education classes while narrowing down what I will eventually do.

What have you learned from your time at Missouri State-West Plains that will help you succeed in your education, career or life?

I learned to be confident and how to be a leader through the residence life program, the Student Ambassador program, and Grizzly Madness (student pep club). Before coming to college, I was shy and did not often speak in front of others; however, I am now confident and comfortable speaking in front of others and being a leader in many different circumstances.

What are your plans after graduation?

After graduation, I plan to transfer to MSU-Springfield to pursue my bachelor’s degree. Eventually, I would also like to work towards a master’s degree.
