“All of my teachers have been very kind to me, and getting to know my classmates has been fun.”

Academic Program: Associate of Science in Pre-Engineering

Hometown: Houston, Mo.

Why did you choose to attend Missouri State-West Plains?

It provided everything I was looking for at an affordable rate.

How would you describe your experience here?

My stay here at MSU-WP has been a very gentle experience. It has been nice, all of my teachers have been very kind to me, and getting to know my classmates has been fun.

What has been your favorite thing about Missouri State-West Plains?

Definitely getting to know the awesome people here!

What has been your favorite course?

This is a toss-up between Dr. Gary Phillips’ COM 115 Fundamentals of Public Speakign class and Professor Towell’s MTH 260 Calculus 1 class. They were both very fun to complete.

How have faculty and staff helped you during your time at Missouri State-West Plains?

When I was swamped with work, I asked for an extension on an assignment, and I was graciously given a little more time.

How did you choose your major?

I chose my major because I thought engineering would be something I could do a decent job at while benefiting society and earning enough to provide for my (future) family.

What have you learned from your time here that will help you succeed in your education, career or life?

I think the most useful skill was taught from the Writing Department, and that is to look at a situation rhetorically and to fully understand who is involved and what the best course of action is.

What are your plans after graduation?

I plan to be an awesome husband and father while becoming wildly successful. In the short term, I suppose I have been considering moving to the Carolinas.
