“At MSU-WP, I knew I would be a name and not a number.”

Academic Program: Agriculture

Hometown: Ewing, Mo.

Why did you choose to attend Missouri State-West Plains?

At MSU-WP I knew I would be a name and not a number.

How would you describe your experience here?

It has been great here at MSU-WP! I have learned a lot more about myself and what I’m capable of, more than anything.

What has been your favorite thing about Missouri State-West Plains?

The other students and how nice they are. Everyone talks to everyone, and we all get along.

What has been your favorite course?

My equine science class for sure!

How have faculty and staff helped you during your time at Missouri State-West Plains?

They have answered all of my questions and pointed me in the right direction to make me as successful as possible.

How did you choose your major?

I have known exactly what I wanted to do since I was really young, and luckily it still has not changed. I simply am studying what I love.

What have you learned from the Agriculture Department that will help you succeed in your education, career or life?

The Ag Department has really just challenged me to look at the good side of things and how to explore beyond what you think you want. Dr. Linda Risner has showed us a lot about our futures and helped us prepare in the best way possible for the careers we have chosen.

What are your plans after graduation?

My plan after graduating from MSU-WP is to transfer to a veterinary technician institute in Denver, Colorado, where I will obtain my veterinary technician license and then go into the work force as an Equine Veterinary Technician (EVT).
