What services does the Garnett Library provide to students?
The Garnett Library provides access to materials in physical format, such as books, periodicals and DVDs, as well as online resources that help students succeed in their academic career. We also provide a place for patrons to study, access technology and receive assistance using library resources and services. Through the Garnett Library, patrons have access to not only the collection of materials here in our library, but also the collections at Barbe Library (Mountain Grove), Meyer Library (Springfield), and the West Plains Public Library.
What do you find most rewarding about working at Missouri State-West Plains?
Assisting students and faculty in finding the resources they need to succeed in their academic pursuits. It is rewarding to provide an article or book that a patron needs to complete the research they are working on.
What advice would you give a current student about succeeding academically in college?
Remember to use ALL of the resources available to you, including the library! The library is not just a building filled with old books where they make you be quiet. It is a vibrant place where you can study, do independent research or receive assistance to find the information you need, when you need it!
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my husband and fur baby, reading, and exploring springs and old mills around the area.
