What do you find most rewarding about working at Missouri State-West Plains?
Seeing students thrive, establishing friendships and developing leadership skills is what I find to be most rewarding in my position. I am also thankful for the opportunity to give back what was given to me while I was a student here. Being a part of such a dedicated, compassionate group of faculty and staff makes a world of difference.
What advice would you give a current student about succeeding academically in college?
Learn to find the sweet spot of a healthy work-life balance. I have had to sometimes say “no” to opportunities that life presents in order to focus on the more important priorities. So, make a list of what is the most important to you, and go after those things. Always remember, being a student leader, student volunteer, student athlete, student employee…. starts with “student” first.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Spending time with my wife, Casey, and son, Dawson, and other friends/family and serving at my local church. I love the outdoors, so everything from hunting, fishing, hiking, traveling to new places and playing sports (St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs are my teams!) I enjoy watching movies, reading a good book and woodworking.
