“My favorite thing about Missouri State-West Plains is that it is a smaller campus with a faculty that really cares about my success.”

Academic Program:  Associate of Science in Business

What is your hometown?  Willow Springs, Missouri

Why did you choose to attend Missouri State-West Plains?

Missouri State-West Plains is close to home and an affordable option. I knew that I wanted to go back to college to pursue my associate’s, and Missouri State-West Plains made it possible for me because of these reasons.

How would you describe your experience here?

It has been very rewarding. I had no idea exactly what I wanted to pursue, but I knew that I wanted to earn a degree. Taking a variety of courses helped me find what I enjoy doing.

What has been your favorite thing about Missouri State-West Plains?

It is a smaller campus with a faculty that really cares about my success.

What has been your favorite course?

Introduction to Financial Accounting has been one of my favorites because it helped me decide that I wanted to pursue accounting.

How have faculty and staff helped you during your time at Missouri State-West Plains?

Someone is always available to help me be the most successful I can, whether its deciding what classes to take to achieve my goals or extra help with assignments.

How did you choose your major?

I didn’t know what I had in store for my future until I took classes that clicked with me. I was able to find what I like to do and what I am good at. It really made me more confident in my future.

What have you learned from Advisement and Academic Coaching Center for Empowering Student Success (AACCESS) that will help you succeed in your education, career or life?

My advisor has really helped me to plan out what I need to do to reach my goals. If I have a question about anything, I can always reach out to her. She has also reached out to me anytime she comes across opportunities that she thinks would be good for me to explore.

What are your plans after graduation?

After I graduate with my Associates of Science in Business, I am transferring to the College of Business at Missouri State in Springfield to pursue a bachelor’s in accounting.
