Sixteen students, faculty and staff at Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP) recently participated in a shoebox packing party for Operation Christmas Child.
The group filled 50 shoeboxes with such items as stuffed animals, stickers, Crayons, card games and combs that were purchased or donated for the event.
Student Government Association (SGA) members hosted the party and provided some of the funds that were used to purchase items for the boxes.
Other monetary donations came from the Student Nurses Association and anonymous faculty and staff members, organizers said.
Boxes were dropped off at First Baptist Church in West Plains for delivery to Samaritan’s Purse, a Christian humanitarian aid organization which distributes the boxes to children around the world.
