When Angelia Ashberger started at Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP), she began second guessing herself, wondering if it was the right fit. As a nontraditional student, taking the leap to add college into the mix of an already busy schedule can be daunting. Over time, Angelia discovered that MSU-WP was the perfect fit for her.
Angelia got involved in Phi Beta Lambda (PBL), the student business organization, which allowed her to attend numerous leadership conferences and helped build her confidence to get involved with other organizations on campus
She became a Student Ambassador and an accounting tutor which gave her the chance to interact with other students on campus. These experiences taught her patience and additional interpersonal skills as she discovered how people learn in different ways.
Angelia said she is most proud of graduating debt free, thanks to MSU-WP’s affordability and the scholarships she received

Through MSU-WP, Angelia was able to establish relationships with staff and fellow students that helped her be her best self.
“The support I received through this campus has been amazing. From the staff, teachers, and even my fellow students, everyone wants you to succeed,” she says.
Angelia is currently enrolled at Missouri State University, seeking a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
“The Springfield campus has a hard act to follow.”
