When like-minded people come together and pool their resources to address a social or political issue, the course of history can be changed.
“The Anatomy of a Movement,” a short-term class scheduled for April 25-28 at Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP), takes a closer look at the history of some of these movements and analyzes their effectiveness, organizers said.
Some of the movements that will be reviewed include Women’s Suffrage, Neo-Nazism, Civil Rights, Me Too and Black Lives Matter.
Our facilitators
Facilitators for the class include MSU-WP Chancellor Dennis Lancaster, Business and Support Services Director Crockett Oaks, Emeritus Professor of History Carol Silvey and Emeritus Professor of Communications Kay Garrett.
The course is open to all; however, a 25-student limit has been set. The cost is $100.
Those interested can take the class on a non-credit or for-credit basis. Those who choose the for-credit option will earn one college credit hour.
Registration for the class ends April 18.
